Tampa dermatologist Dr. Seth Forman is becoming the go-to dermatologist for skin cancer issues for the Tampa media. On his most recent appearance on WTSP Channel 10 News Thursday, he discussed his groundbreaking skin cancer treatment with health reporter Allison Kropff.
“This treatment can leave patients without scarring, without the pain of having surgery, shots or having to do any wound care,” says the Tampa dermatologist. “Now there is another option for these patients and it doesn’t have to be painful.”
The painless procedure treats the most common form of skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma, with pinpointed radiation. The 90-second procedure eliminates the need for surgery or recovery time.
The Sensus SRT-100 technology was first sold in July to a hospital in Hong Kong and has only recently ventured to the United States. The Tampa dermatologist is one of only a handful of board-certified dermatologists that are using it to treat skin cancer.
Forman also discussed the treatment on a Tampa radio morning show, “Kramer in the Morning” last week. Speaking with the Play 98.7 morning show host, the Tampa dermatologist discussed his recent appearance on the nationally syndicated health show “The Doctors”. Click here to listen to the audio.
These recent efforts have solidified Forman’s dedication to raising the awareness of his skin cancer treatment. His multiple media appearances promoting his methods has led to many patients coming in to get treatments they need, but avoided.
“My hope is that more people see that a painless treatment for skin cancer is available,” Forman says. “Many patients will avoid coming in for treatment because of the side effects involved with surgery. Now there’s an alternative for anyone with basal cell skin cancer to see a doctor and get treated.”
