Bahman Aghai Diba aims to change readers’ misconceptions about Iran and the Middle East in “Problems of the Islamic Republic of Iran”
(PR NewsChannel) / July 18, 2011 / LEESBURG, Va.

Bahman Aghai Diba spent 14 years learning about the inner workings of Iran through his position in the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  He attempts to help others better understand the country of Iran with the collection of articles and insights in “Problems of the Islamic Republic of Iran” (ISBN 1461021979).

Diba points out that since the birth of the Islamic Republic in Iran in 1979, Iranians living locally or afar have been significantly affected. The author uses this collection of articles to highlight the problems this republic faces and what steps politicians are taking to fix them. The articles intend to simplify the political and legal problems for readers so that they get a better understanding of what is going on in Iran.

However, Diba also wants readers to realize that a system of government built on strict religious rules, especially Islamic ones, does not work. The collection stands to demonstrate how this system falls prisoner to its own limitations. He claims that regardless of what Iranian leaders have said, the system ultimately leads to injustice, mismanagement, corruption, war and conflict in the country and internationally.

“I have worked extensively both in and out of Iran and saw many of the issues I write about firsthand,” Diba says. “There are many misunderstandings about the issues of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and I hope that my work clarifies them.”

Diba believes that this work will appeal to a wide-range of readers as Iran is the center of international attention for its nuclear program, its role in international terrorism and its effect on the Middle East peace processes, to name a few. He hopes that the articles enlighten political science and international affairs students, journalists covering Middle Eastern affairs and those interested in international relations.

“Problems of the Islamic Republic of Iran” is available for sale online at and other channels.
