GTRA tech awards for government cloud, EA, security, privacy, infrastructure and mobility announced

Today Government Technology Research Alliance (GTRA) announced the speaker and technology award winners for the GTRA May 2011 Council Meeting.  Senior executives at the Government Technology Research Alliance’s semi-annual council meetings voted among their peers nominating technology leaders in the areas of enterprise architecture, cloud, security, privacy, infrastructure, and mobility.

Robert Brese, Deputy CIO, Energy was awarded “Most Dynamic Speaker” by the GTRA attendees for his presentation on the transformation of the Department of Energy’s IT strategy and the importance of collaboration to find solutions.

The presentation “Bringing value to the organization through Enterprise Architecture” led by Brett Brunk, Chief Enterprise Architect, GSA, and Doreen Cox, Chief Architect, Office of Information Technology, Customs & Border Protection landed them the “Best Enterprise Architecture Presentation” award.

Ned Goldberg, CISO, FDIC, Jerry Hanley, Chief Privacy Officer, Energy, and Jonathan Cantor, Chief Privacy Officer and Director of Open Government collaborated on privacy implications of cloud, social media, and mobility “Best Privacy Presentation” award for their contributions to the topic.

The “Best Cyber Security Presentation” was won by a landslide. Dr. Paul Tibbits, Deputy CIO, Office of Architecture, Strategy and Design, VA, shared his insight and expertise in his presentation titled, “Customer Driven EA for Cyber Security- what EAs and Security Professionals Need to Know.”

Brian Wilczynski, Director, Architecture & Infrastructure, DoD, was awarded the “Best Infrastructure Presentation” for his outstanding keynote, “Reference Architecture for IT Infrastructure.” The “Most Innovative Presentation” award for the valuable awareness of how to help transform your IT department into a strategic asset for your agency was won by Dennis Wisnosky, Chief Architect, CTO, Business Mission Area, Office of the Deputy Chief Management Officer, DoD.
