Information security management compliance certification awarded to SAIC’s Homeland and Civilian Solutions Business Unit

MCLEAN, Va. / Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] announced today an operation within the Homeland and Civilian Solutions Business Unit was awarded International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001 certification for information security management compliance. The certification was awarded after an independent audit of SAIC’s North American Integrated Services Management Center (NAISMC) by the British Standards Institution (BSI).

ISO is a network of national standards institutes from 157 countries, with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.  ISO/IEC 27001 is the formal set of specifications against which organizations may seek independent certification of their Information Security Management System (ISMS).  ISO/IEC 27001 specifies requirements for the establishment, implementation, monitoring and review, maintenance and improvement of a management system for managing an organization’s information security risks.

The NAISMC, located in Oak Ridge, Tenn., is a world-class IT service management facility that integrates people, processes, technology and customer business strategies to provide comprehensive, business-focused services and solutions to customers around the world.
