The AP Stylebook change for email was announced on Twitter.  The tweet: “Language evolves. Today we change AP style from e-mail to email, no hyphen.”

The change by the AP was officially announced Friday at the 15th National Conference of the American Copy Editors Society in Phoenix.

All press releases distributed by PR NewsChannel that contain the word ‘email’ will be changed to ‘email’ during the editorial review process, which every news release undergoes before distribution.

The Associated Press Stylebook, or the AP Stylebook, is a bible of sorts used by thousands of newspapers, broadcast media and other news operations throughout the United States.

PR NewsChannel, the only press release distribution company founded by journalists, adopted AP style to be consistent with the top news and information outlets across the United States.
