(PRNewsChannel) / January 20, 2010 / Tampa, Fla. / By putting a unique spin on the PR business, The Publicity Agency has created a niche for itself in the PR world. Just call it journalist PR: public relations served up by the people who for years were the recipients.
The Publicity Agency (http://www.thepublicityagency.com) is the PR firm comprised of former journalists. That business plan has spawned a few journalist PR-type look alike companies.
"There is Twitter site that offers a parody of our Twitter page and a few journalist PR firms that have sprouted too," says Justin Herndon, director of publicity and news for the PR agency. "When companies copy you it's a compliment because they want to be like you."
In addition to a slate of professional and business clients, the PR firm represents political figures including Florida Sen. Mike Haridopolos, the incoming president of the Senate.
Still The Publicity Agency may best be known for its crisis management PR, representing such big names as former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, former Bolingbrook, Ill. police sergeant Drew Peterson and Guantanamo whistleblower Sgt. Joe Hickman among others.
"We manage many big news stories and we help get publicity for professionals and businesses in general," says Glenn Selig, who founded The Publicity Agency (http://www.thepublicityagency.com) after a successful and award-winning journalism career that spanned 20 years. "It sounds like a Hannah Montana song but we have the best of both worlds. I'm very proud of the work that we do."
