(PR NewsChannel) / March 14, 2011 / HUNTSVILLE, Ala. / "Happier relationships can produce a happier environment here in Huntsville, where the state motto is 'Alabama the Beautiful,'" business owner Sherri Williams said of her Pleasures store's Batteries for Solar-Powered Toys event.

Local radio personalities Fish and Ken will be working the Pleasures drive-thru window on St. Paddy's Day. They'll accept the old batteries and hand out doses of laughter with every solar-powered toy they deliver through the drawer. While the Pleasures store drive-thru always offers free condoms as a community service, they will be giving away solar-powered toys as an environmental service on March 17. For all online shoppers, a 20 percent-off discount can be used toward the purchase of solar-charged toys by entering the word “GREEN” during checkout at www.MyPleasureStore.com.

"The sun can charge up your sex life the same way it charges up the environment," Williams commented. "Trade in those acid batteries for solar-charged cells that can power all your bedroom appliances."

The Pleasures one-stop romance shops will be the country’s first adult boutiques to “Go Green” by offering solar-powered toys in trade for used batteries. All household batteries collected will be turned over to the local hazardous waste facility. The good St. Patrick did his part by wearing green, and Pleasures is doing its part by promoting green toys.

As a strong supporter of eco-friendly alternatives, Pleasures encourages other business owners to join in their efforts to help the environment by offering a store credit to those who participate in their ongoing efforts to ease the burden on our fragile environment.

About Pleasures: The one-stop romance shop’s new location, located at 4008 University Dr., in Huntsville, Ala., offers 7,000 square feet of retail romance-inspiring products. The adjoining Intimacy Clinic offers a free sexual health library, book signings, weekly seminars and workshops, free condoms, marriage counseling and therapy, in addition to an outdoor lounge for wine, beer, and smokers, and an indoor lounge featuring ToyBox Parties for giggling groups of women and private functions. Pleasures' sister store in Decatur, Ala., houses an additional 4,000 square feet of romance retail. Sherri Williams founded Pleasures in June 1993 to offer Huntsville couples comfortable shopping and an endless intimate accessories selection.
