(PR NewsChannel) / February 15, 2011 / CHICAGO / The following is a statement from Rod Blagojevich, former governor of Illinois, on a new law that end free rides for seniors:

“Pat Quinn has a funny way of showing respect to his elders.  On the one hand he socks it to them with the biggest tax increase in Illinois history while at the same time he takes away their free rides.

"I feel terrible for our seniors that this is the thanks they get after years of hard work raising their children and paying their taxes.

"That’s why I fought so hard to get free rides for seniors in the first place and it’s sad to see it being taken away from them like this.”
