SAN ANTONIO, Texas / The mission statement behind ArmyBassAnglers (ABA) is “SUPPORT. DEFEND. FISH.” TipSee Light Company (TLC) claims, “We make light work for you.” Steve LaBuzetta, inventor of the “Handiest, Toughest Grip-On Clip-On Hook-On Get-It-Wet Go Anywhere, LED Task Light on the Planet,” announces his support of ABA through a multi-year sponsorship.
“Inventing and bringing my lights to market has been quite a kick, but not much compares with the thrill of being part of the ArmyBassAnglers and it’s coalition of pro staff anglers," says LaBuzetta, an avid angler and the CEO of TipSee Light Company. “For me, this association holds a special place, because I know my dad, who was my fishing buddy and a World War II B24 pilot, has something to do with bringing TLC and ABA together. He would have been proud to support such a great cause. ABA is doing such a fantastic job of getting our heroes out on the water for some much deserved fun and fishing after their brave service. At the end of the day, if my lights can add something to their fishing experience, I’ll be extremely proud.”
ABA consists of 12 pro staff anglers and 100 coalition anglers, all of whom are active duty or retired U.S. military from all branches of service. The group currently fishes Bass Champs on the World Fishing Network and numerous grass roots events, and gained national prominence as the Ceremonial Launch Boats for the past two Bassmasters Classics, while raising National awareness for Returning Heroes Home, Lone Star Paralyzed Veterans of America, Heroes on the Water and Veteran Outdoors.
The Warrior and Family Support Center, the original non-profit ABA supported, is a 12,000 square foot rehabilitation center funded solely by private donations and provides space for wounded soldiers undergoing treatment in San Antonio, Texas. This allows them to spend private time with their friends and families when they are not actively participating in rehabilitative treatment.
The Lone Star chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America, a congressionally chartered veterans service organization established on August 19, 1989, is locally involved in the support of its members or veterans in the North Texas area who served in the armed forces and have experienced spinal cord injury or dysfunction.
Heroes on the Water (HOW) is a national non-profit 501c3 that focuses its efforts on kayaking and fishing as a rehabilitative outdoor activity for wounded veterans recovering from their combat injures. HOW is an incredible alternative to power boat fishing and outdoor recreation that has provided very inspiring results in both physical and emotional rehabilitation.
Veteran Outdoors is a non-profit 501c3 that completes ArmyBassAngler’s Task Force of non-profits that provides big game, one-of-a-kind hunting and fishing experiences for wounded veterans with some of the country’s most experienced pros and guides who are all focused on the wounded hero and his story.
“We are extremely excited about TipSee Lights joining forces with our organization," says ABA President Cody Roberson. "We are continually seeking one-of-a-kind companies to support our mission, and TipSee Lights fits that mold perfectly with their indestructible light. If you know anything about soldiers, you know that tough is not a character trait, it is a requirement, and we are proud to join forces with a company and product as tough as the TipSee Light—HOOAH! We look forward to a long, strong relationship with TipSee lights and putting this incredible product into the hands of America’s finest.”
