Latisse Leads to Lush, Full Lashes Says Tampa Dermatologist

Dr. Seth Forman says his patients are seeing success with the lash growth medication and talks about the product to Glamour magazine.

The Tampa dermatologist says he prescribes it to his patients and sees success. Glamour magazine quoted Dr. Forman about how well the eyelash growth medication works.

"There have been concerns with eyelid discoloration, but I haven't seen that" says the Tampa dermatologist. "If patients follow the directions, they shouldn’t have any problems."

Dr. Forman says Latisse is FDA approved and if used properly, will stimulate eyelash growth in 12 weeks. He adds there are several over-the-counter products that make the same claim, but do not work as well.

"Eyelashes are important to women," says the Tampa dermatologist. "Women spend billions of dollars each year on fake lashes, mascaras and other lash products. Latisse offers a more permanent solution to their lash problems."

Dr. Forman stresses that Latisse is for use on eyelashes only. "I have a patient who used the medication on her eyebrows with success, but I can't recommend others do that," he says. "Latisse is only FDA approved for eyelash use."

Latisse was discovered by accident says Dr. Forman. The product has the same formula as Lumigan, an eye drop made to treat glaucoma. The drug is categorized as a prostaglandin analog, which reduces pressure on the eyeball. The side effect was that it made patients' eyelashes longer and fuller.
