Peterson will appear along with his criminal defense attorney Joel A. Brodsky.

"It all came together yesterday," says Glenn Selig, Peterson's Florida-based publicist.

Peterson and Brodsky appeared together recently on NBC's Today.  But the interview with host Larry King marks the first time Peterson will take live questions from callers.

Peterson denies any involvement in his fourth wife Stacy's disappearance. His third wife Kathleen Savio's death was recently ruled a homicide. Peterson, who has not been named a suspect in the Savio case, denies any involvement in Kathleen's death.

Because of media coverage and Peterson's bizarre behavior in the weeks that followed his wife's disappearance, Selig says the public has come to believe that Peterson is guilty even though he has not even been charged.

"In reality he is very different than he's been portrayed to be," says Selig. "I'm trying to get America to know the real Drew Peterson--not the man the media has portrayed. Drew is a wonderful father who's now raising his four young children without a mother."

While Selig says there's always some risk in accepting a program that includes taking live phone calls, he says in the Peterson case it's worth it.

"We need something dramatic to change people's impressions and taking live phone calls certainly adds drama," says Selig.  "Larry King Live offers a great opportunity for people to see Drew for whom he really is and Joel (Brodsky) will be on set with him."

Last month, Peterson granted a taped and print interview to the Associated Press (AP).

Peterson and Brodsky appear on CNN's Larry King Live this Friday at 9pm ET.
