(PRNewsChannel) / March 31, 2008 / Tampa, Fla. - A first-of-its-kind syndicated news franchise that targets fathers 25-54 is ready to begin airing on local news channels in the U.S. and Canada.

The new Interactive Dad TV™ is available now as a market exclusive.

"We're ready to go," says Glenn Selig, president and CEO of Selig Multimedia, Inc. which created Interactive Dad TV™.  "The unknown is which stations in which markets will become affiliates."

Produced by award-winning veteran journalists, the syndicated TV news stories focus on family matters, family finance and other subjects fathers care about.

Interactive Dad TV™ is based on the popular online fatherhood magazine InteractiveDad.com, which was created five years ago and each day attracts tens of thousands of fathers and mothers worldwide.

"This has been several years in development," says Selig. "I'm thrilled that fathers finally have a segment on local newscasts that's for them."

A poll conducted by InteractiveDad.com shows that more than half of all dads surveyed said they would flip channels to watch a news segment for fathers.

Most segments, on parenting or otherwise, tend to be geared toward mothers.

InteractiveDad.com is the most popular fatherhood magazine on the Internet. Created five years ago, it attracts tens of thousands of fathers and mothers nationwide each day.

Interactive Dad TV™ aims to build on that success by producing TV stories for local newscasts.

"This franchise will attract new viewers and a valuable demographic," says Selig.

Selig is an award-winning former major market TV news anchor and investigative reporter.  He's assembled a team of top-notch journalists to produce the syndicated news segment.  As a dad of two himself, Selig also fronts the reports.  But stations may also substitute their own talent.

The reports, produced in High Definition (HDTV) and available in Standard Definition, come complete with 3 stand-alone stories each week, custom outcues and teases designed to attract a key demo to newscasts.

Each week, stations receive three original stories complete with:

-lead-ins/tags
-on camera teases
-electronic downloadable scripts for easy copy and pasting into archives or closed captioning
-fully tracked, split channel pieces
-custom outcues

"The reports will occasionally break news and command publicity in their own right," says Selig. "I'm excited to be doing this and look forward to building the franchise with our affiliates."

Interactive Dad TV™ is affordable for stations of all sizes and available now as a market exclusive syndicated news franchise.
