Los Angeles, Calif. - A free Web site may just help thousands of struggling actors find jobs.

Actor, dancer and singer Lee Poulin found the site.  He wants a career in theatre, film and television.  Ronald Young who does character voices and Chantal Aytes who’s a dancer and singer have found it too.

They’ve each created their own Web pages on ActorSpace.com, a site where actors can post pictures, resumes and even demo reels online for free and for fellow actors and casting agents to see.

“I thought this would give actors an outlet to really promote themselves without being restricted by service fees and other limitations,” says Johnathan Ruggiero, the creator of ActorSpace.com.  “It gives actors a chance to network with other actors, and submit their resumes and demo reels for auditions at no charge.”

Ruggiero is not an actor.  He’s actually a film producer.  But he says he has friends who are actors and hears about how expensive it is to market an acting career.

“The entertainment industry is all about networking and helping out others, so I wanted to try and make a difference,” says Ruggiero.

Because the site has advertisers, actors pay nothing.

Ruggiero hopes the site will attract casting agents who can use the site to find actors for projects.

The site also includes a job board with paying jobs and the occasional student project.

“The site is for actors just starting out and trying to make it in showbiz,” says Ruggiero.  “It’s free, it’s easy to use and very professional, so there is no reason why actors wouldn’t want to join. They just don’t know about us yet.”

About ActorSpace.com:  ActorSpace.com is a free social networking Web site for actors.  Up-and-coming actors can create their own Web pages with photos, resume, demo reel and more for free.

Interview Availability:  Johnathan Ruggiero is available for television, radio and newspaper interviews.
