With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Melissa R. Puschak, RN, BSN, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. Melissa is a registered nurse with three years of experience in her field and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially cardiovascular nursing, intensive care, medical/surgical nursing, and telemetry. She began her career at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway in Rahway, New Jersey on the Medical/Surgical and Telemetry Unit. Melissa is currently serving patients on the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. The hospital serves as a regional referral, teaching hospital and provides the highest level of care for women and infants, trauma, and cardiac patients.
Melissa went to The College of New Jersey where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2013. She received the Janssen Pharmaceutica, Inc. Merit Scholarship, and was nominated two years in a row for The International Scholar Laureate Program Delegation on Nursing in Australia. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science degree in Nursing with Acute Care Adult/Gerontological Nurse Practitioner concentration at Seton Hall University with expected graduation in 2017. Furthermore, Melissa holds certifications in advanced cardiac life support, basic life support, CPR, EKG, IV Therapy, and Telemetry. She is currently studying for the CCRN examination, which she will be taking in December of this year. Melissa is an inductee of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and the Golden Key International Honour Society, and additionally maintains a professional membership with the New Jersey State Nurses Association and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She attributes her success to other nurses who encourage and inspire her as they share their knowledge and team spirit. When she is not assisting patients, Melissa enjoys traveling, spending time with her friends and family, and zip lining.
