With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Virginia Christel Hancock, DNP, FNP-C, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. Virginia is a nurse practitioner with 16 years of experience in her field and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially family medicine and pediatric nursing. Virginia is currently serving patients at Craven County Health Department in New Bern, North Carolina.
Virginia attended Pitt Community College in Winterville, North Carolina, where she received her Associate degree of Nursing in 2000. She then went on to acquire her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2011 from the University Of Phoenix School Of Nursing. An advocate of continuing education, Virginia gained her Master of Science degree in Nursing with a Nurse Practitioner concentration in 2014 from the University of South Alabama, where she additionally earned her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in 2016.
Virginia is a family nurse practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and maintains professional memberships with the Association of Nurse Practitioners, the North Carolina Board of Nursing, and the American Nurses Association. Furthermore, Virginia is an inductee of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and a recipient of an Unsung Hero Award in 2012. She attributes her success to family support and striving to provide great patient care. In her spare time, Virginia is actively involved with her son’s cub scouts.
