Dr. Shikowitz graduated in 1981 with his Medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Roseau, Dominican Republic. He served his internship in general surgery at Maimonides Medical Center and his residency in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Today, he is affiliated with Long Island Jewish Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital, Syosset Hospital, Northwell Health Physician Partners, and Northwell Health Neuroscience Institute. Furthermore, Dr. Shikowitz has spoken in many countries, including Australia, England, Germany, Italy, China, Prague and Scotland. He holds triple board certification in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, and facial cosmetic surgery. Dr. Shikowitz is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and maintains professional memberships with the American Medical Association, the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Otolaryngology, the Society for Ear, Nose and Throat Advances in Children, the Long Island Society of Otolaryngology of Head and Neck Surgery, the Association for Research in Otolaryngology, and The American Broncho-Esophagological Association. Dr. Shikowitz is actively involved in medical mission work around the world, and attributes his success to his hard work and his innovative surgery and procedures.
