With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Yvonne I. Duffield, RN, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. Yvonne has been a registered nurse with 40 years of experience in her field and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially intensive care, vocational healthcare training, Aboriginal nursing, post-operative nursing, and coronary care. Yvonne is currently retired from practice but continues to work as a Lecturer at South Metropolitan Institute of Technology, – Murdoch Campus in Western Australia, having previously Lectured at the Centre for Aboriginal Studies at Curtin University of Technology.
Yvonne received her certificate in General Nursing from Lucy Osborne School of Nursing, Sydney Hospital, in 1971. Furthermore, she trained to become a registered midwife at Liverpool Hospital, and obtained her Bachelor of Health Science degree in Nursing in 2000 from the Edith Cowan University. She also holds a postgraduate diploma in educational studies, and acquired her Master of Education degree in 2005 from Murdoch University, where she is studying for her PhD in Social Justice Education.
Yvonne maintains a professional membership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and attributes her success to her love of nursing, hard work and dedication, her desire to learn, and by keeping up to date on the science of nursing. When she is not working, Yvonne enjoys her dozen grandchildren, her dog & parrot, and gardening.
