With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Gina Ann Riese, APN, BSN, MSN, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. Gina is an Advanced Practice Nurse at (and graduated from) Rutgers University with ten years of experience in her field (mostly in the adult Critical Care area) and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially adult gerontology acute care.
Gina received her Associate of Arts degree in Psychology from Gloucester County College (GCC), in Sewell, New Jersey. She then obtained her Associates in Science at the GCC Nursing Program, passed her NCLEX shortly after, and immediately started to work as a Registered Nurse at her local hospital. While working full time, she also attended Drexel University School of Nursing, where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2009. She worked her way up to being an alternate charge nurse, as well as acted as preceptor for new RNs. Furthermore, Gina acquired her Master of Science degree in Nursing in 2013 from Rutgers University and earned her APN certification in 2014. She also holds an active DEA license and accreditation from the CDS and Medicare.
Gina continues to be certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support. She additionally maintains a professional membership with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the AACN. She feels that she owes her success to her family’s unconditional support, especially her mother who went above and beyond to constantly accommodate her hectic school and work schedule- as well as keeping a healthy work/life balance. When she is not assisting patients, Gina enjoys swimming, shopping, going to the movies, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
