With an upcoming publication in the Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare, Mary A. Luckett, RN, MSN, joins the prestigious ranks of the International Nurses Association. Mary is a registered nurse with 47 years of experience in her field and an extensive expertise in all facets of nursing, especially nutrition education. Mary is currently serving as lecturer and teacher at Houston Community College System in Houston, Texas. She has been teaching the next generation of nursing professionals with dedication and passion since 1973.
Mary received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1969 from the Texas Woman’s University College of Nursing in Denton, Texas, followed by her Certification in vocational nursing education from The Texas Education Agency in 1977, and her Master of Science degree in nursing with a focus on Community Health Nursing in 1986 also from the Texas Woman’s University. Additionally, Mary maintains professional memberships with the American Nurses Association, the Texas Nurses Association, and the District 9 Nurses Association.
Mary is the recipient of a Par Excellence Instructor Award in 1984, Faculty Fellowship in 2004, Chancellor’s Eagle Award from 2010 to 2011, the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Excellence Award in 2014, Emma Josephine Loeffelholz Morris RN Spirituality Award in 2015, and the Coleman College Center of Excellence ACE Award-Faculty in 2016. When she is not working at Houston Community College, Mary enjoys reading and gardening.
