Tickets are now on sale for Girls Inc of Pinellas Fire and Ice Gala. This year marks the organizations 55th anniversary and plans are well underway to create “a night like no other” to celebrate this milestone. The event, presented by HSN Cares, will take place in a few weeks at The Club at Treasurer Island on Friday, March 4th from 7:00 – 10:30 pm. The Club at Treasure Island is located at 400 Treasure Island Causeway, Treasure Island, FL 33706. Tickets are $100.
The gala will include an elegant dinner created by Executive Chef Paul Liptak, silent and live auctions, dancing and more! Two women who have given time, talent and treasure to the organization will be honored through Girls Inc Champions Spotlight. The names of the recipients will be released soon.
Girls Inc of Pinellas continually strives to grow and serve more girls and families with impact in the community. The organization aspires towards outcome goals through comprehensive and structured programming and by providing unique opportunities for participants over time. As an affiliate of a national organization, Girls Inc of Pinellas provides the “Girls Inc Experience” through mentoring relationships, intentional programming, research-based curricula, interactive activities, and sustained exposure in a girls-only environment. The organization targets both short-term and long-term outcome goals in three focus areas: healthy living, academic enrichment and support, and life skills instruction.
One of Girls Inc’s biggest needs right now is transportation including purchase of new vehicles, maintenance, insurance and inspections. A 30-passenger minibus and 12-passenger van will be used to provide safe transportation from 24 Pinellas County schools to Girls Inc of Pinellas for students in the after-school youth development program. The minibus and van will also be utilized for off campus field trips during school year, spring break, and summer camps. Proceeds from the Fire & Ice Gala will be used to support these transportation expenses, allowing more girls to participate in our program.
