With the hunting season in full swing, hunters across the country are applauding Florida governor Rick Scott’s recent executive order to reduce lifetime licensing fees, none louder than Mike Dukart, political activist and creator of the hunting call company Illusion Systems.
Announced last week, the signing was met with high praise from members of the sporting community, particularly Dukart.
“Rick Scott is doing a great thing by lowering the cost of lifetime fishing and hunting licenses in Florida,” said Dukart, founder of the hunting call company, Illusion Systems. “The impact will have numerous positive effects on the local and national economy and will hugely benefit the state in the long run.”
Florida’s lifetime licenses cover saltwater and freshwater fishing, as well as hunting.
Enacted at the height of deer and turkey hunting season, the order will reduce the price of a lifetime license in half to $500 for residents 21 and under who sign up between November 24 and December 31. The price cut is expected to have an immediate impact across the state.
