Telemundo News wins Emmy® for coverage of election of Pope Francis

telemundoTelemundo News’ coverage of the election of Pope Francis won an Emmy® Award at the 35th annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards hosted by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) during a gala ceremony in New York, the first time specific categories for Spanish-language television were included. 

On March 13, 2013, the eyes of the world were on Rome when a papal conclave elected Jorge Mario Bergoglio as Pope Francis— the church’s first Latin American Pope.
