Yank WebsiteThe official website for worldwide humanitarian and head of Global Village Champions Foundation (GVCF) Yank Barry launched in June.

As a former rock n’ roll singer turned philanthropist responsible for supplying nearly one billion meals in the most disparate areas of the world, Barry’s life has taken an entertaining and inspirational path. The website YankBarry.Me, is designed to share his unique story.

“Yank has done so many fascinating things, helping a myriad of people in various fashions with his music, nourishment distribution and doing what he can to provide a more quality way of life for those suffering,” says Audra McMurray, GVCF’s Director of Communications. “His story is an incredible tale that needed to be told in hopes of motivating others to pay-it-forward.”

Barry co-founded GVCF in 1995 alongside boxing legend Muhammad Ali with the goal of creating “a day without hunger.” To date, the nonprofit has supplied over 985,000 meals globally.

Currently, Barry is spearheading the organization’s mission to assist Syrian refugees in Bulgaria. Forced to flee with their country in turmoil, many Syrians are finding sanctuary with Barry and GVCF, who are supplying food, shelter, jobs, among other resources to help them establish a more prosperous, and sustainable, way of life.
