Romeo SantosAfter just one day of sales, Sony Music Latin artist Romeo Santos has sold out the fabled Yankee Stadium.

The Bronx born Latin superstar isn’t about to disappoint his fans who didn’t get a chance to grab tickets as Santos announced a second concert date at baseball’s cathedral on Friday, July 11, the night prior to the original event.

“The fact that Romeo sold out the Yankee Stadium in one day is clear proof that his career is reaching new levels of success,” said Nir Seroussi, President of Sony Music US Latin.

The July concert dates will mark the first Latin artist to headline a concert at the new Yankee Stadium and the only Latin artist to play Yankee Stadium in the last four decades.

Fans can purchase pre-sale tickets to the July 11 show starting at 10:00 a.m. on April 3.

Already the genre’s top-selling album of 2014, Romeo Santos’ “Formula Vol. 2″ features special guest appearances from Nicki Minaj, Drake, Marc Anthony, Carlos Santana, Tego Calderon and comedian Kevin Hart.

Debuting with the biggest sales week of any Latin album in the last eight years, the album’s chart-topping hit, “Odio” featuring Drake, set the record for the highest selling week of any Spanish-language single earlier in 2014, and has been the number one Latin song in the country for eight consecutive weeks.

On top of “Formula Vol. 2’s” accolades, Santos was also recently certified by “Billboard” as the artist with the most number one Latin hits this decade.
