For the seventh consecutive year, PSCU has announced its return as lead partner for Washington D.C.’s premier running event, the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run®.
The Washington D.C. race, set for April 6, 2014, has grown in prominence, thanks in part to its root mission of providing comfort, treatment and hope to millions of children in need of medical care through funds raised for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.
Last year’s donation of $483,000 allowed the organization to surpass the $6 million mark for funds donated over the last 12 years to Children’s Miracle Network hospitals nationwide with runners, their families and friends raising approximately $112,000 alone in 2013.
Credit Union Miracle Day, Inc. (CUMD) is the national umbrella organization that represents credit unions as the title sponsor of several localized races.
In addition to the Washington D.C. race, the CUMD Family of Races this year includes the Credit Union SacTown Ten-Mile Run in Sacramento‚ Calif., also on April 6‚ and two Freedom Ten-Mile Runs for our troops overseas.
Although the races are held in Washington, D.C., Sacramento, Calif. and overseas, the money raised is distributed based on where the contributions are collected, allowing the fundraising to support the entire network of Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.
