Tampa headquartered PR company helps find home for lost cat with three legs.
A public relations company has a new, unusual client. A three-legged kitty cat.
The cat, company employees nicknamed “Paws,” simply turned up at the front door of Selig Multimedia, Inc., which happens to be the home to the PR firm, The Publicity Agency and the press release newswire PR NewsChannel.
Clearly the cat wanted some attention.
“We tried calling the various governmental or animal offices that might be able to help but we were told that they either did not have the employees to pick up the cat or could not guarantee that the cat would not be put down,” says Glenn Selig, president and CEO of Selig Multimedia, Inc.
Selig says his office gave the cat water but then Paws disappeared for a few weeks.
The cat returned today.
And that’s when the company decided to do something.
Using the resources of its PR firm and news distribution wire, Selig Multimedia, Inc. launched a campaign to find the owners who may be missing their cat, or find a new home for the lost cat who has only three legs.
“It’s one of the hind legs that appears to have been amputated,” says Selig. “Despite the disability, Paws appears to have no problem moving around and at a great clip, too!”
Selig Multimedia also posted a video on YouTube. To watch the cat in action, please visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6ZX68SJZ6Q.
“We hoping this story has a happy ending,” says Selig. “It would be a great holiday miracle and a great story to tell for years to come.”
If you are interested in providing a home for the cat, please contact Selig Multimedia, Inc. at (813) 708-1220.
UPDATE: 12/8/2011
The cat made her way inside the Selig Multimedia, Inc. offices. (See video below.)
An hour later, the cat’s owner came forward and claimed the cat. The cat’s name is Heather. Turns out, she had been abandoned about a year ago and the new cat owner took her in. The new cat owner is taking good care of her and she is warm and safe now.
“Thanks to everyone from around the U.S. and Canada who offered to help,” says Selig. “There are a lot of really wonderful, caring people in this world. And it’s reassuring to know that.”

the average % of cat in shelters that die each day is around 65%
if there is a PR firm out there that wants to take up this cause it would reach people we as animal lovers can’t
I would take her but I’m all the way in California =(

Can you tell us if someone has at least taken the little one in for the short term? I’m from Canada too, I don’t have much coin but am in agreement with Peter! Would love to help with what I can! Can you keep us apprised of what’s going on and what we few can do?
John…Would you be able to take Paws long term? I’m sure Paws would be ever so grateful for a home! This time of year animals sometimes get forgotten and that would be the best gift you could ever give… and receive! If you aren’t that far away maybe you or someone can go get paws?
If no one else has taken her, I will give her a loving home as soon as I get off work tomorrow morning.
Good Thinking, Batman.
Plus, Great Outcome.

I have 2 males and would LOVE to adopt her. In cat society the female is the leader. My cats have thier own room with all thier toys, and a 9 ft cat tree (she would eventually be able to climb it). They get the BEST cat food – Taste of the Wild. I also have vet ref. even though I live in Wichita Ks I’d be willing to meet someone 1/2 way. She is a beautiful sweet kitty that deserves a chance.

So good the kitteh found a home right away. Can the “owner” keep us up to date maybe on You Tube on how she is doing? I bet it would become one of those You Tube sensations! More help for more lost and unwanted kittens.
We have always taken in the ones who come to us; we live in a rural area so: TNR if feral. If tame, they get a place to stay, food, vet care and lots of love.
Blessings to the PR firm- not all corporates are fiends afterall!
I am so glad that Paws found a home. Right now I have about 3-4 strays outside my house and I have 6 of my own, soon to be seven as one of the strays got to me. It’s a shame that there are so many homeless animals. Please everybody, spay and neuter your pets.
I’m glad to hear of the happy outcome. She’s a pretty cat. Concur with many of the previous statements – folks should spay/neuter their critters.
I am confused. Had the cat been lost by the new owner? For how long?
I wish that Paws ………could get a good home……. its so kind of you to come forward to
help this cat…… Don’t worry your efforts will be payed soon

Good to know Paws has a home and a good devoted slave, but I think Selig missed an opportunity to have a wonderful 3 legged employee who clearly knows her way around PR. Purhaps she could be hired as a representative spokeskitty from time to time
Thank you Selig for doing all you could to unite Paws with hers slave
