Tattoo artists ink deal with a new line of shoes

Tats™ shoes are originally hand drawn by award winning tattoo artists from around the country and, through an exclusive manufacturing process; they are transformed into a wearable canvas.

Creative Destruction Clothing’s founder Daniel Fernandez, and business partner Cameron Barbas have created a unique collaborative business model welcoming artists to submit their original work for upcoming prints.

Ink Fink owner, Mucca, puts his nationally recognized Sugar Skulls to canvas in his “Chica” and “Chico” designs.   The colors and patterns allow the two different pairs of shoes to be mixed or matched, depending on your mood.  His black and sepia, “Cigar City” image, captures Tampa’s heart and tradition.

Artist, Steven “Fish” Warner of Las Vegas Tattoos, brings his classic black and white style to life.   Warner says Tats allow him share his work with more people, “The shoes allow us to go beyond the tattoo enthusiasts and into a realm where people normally wouldn’t look at our artwork.”

Jon Clarks, uses a brighter, more vibrant pallet.  His creation tells a story of a romance gone bad, with a tearful Frankenstein left holding a rose.

Tattoo artists have been drawing on canvas shoes, with pencil, marker, paint, or air brush for years. These original drawings are time consuming, expensive and often smudge or run.

Creative Destruction’s protective mold preserves the artist’s original vision and allows it to be reproduced, creating a more durable and affordable shoe.

Thirteen designs, created by four tattoo artists, make up the inaugural line.

But, there is more to come.

Artists from around the country are submitting their works of art to be included in upcoming prints.
