A Tampa-based crisis management public relations firm that regularly handles high profile cases is offering to represent Casey Anthony jurors who don’t want to be paid for interviews but who want to speak to the media.
“Given the public backlash, members of the jury must be scared or worried about speaking,” says Glenn Selig, founder of The Publicity Agency. “They may want to speak out but likely feel overwhelmed given the level of media attention.
“We don’t want to profit from this. We want to offer to help those jurors who want to tell their stories. And we can help make that happen.”
Though it may be easier to remain anonymous, some of the members of the jury may feel like it’s only a matter of time before their names are revealed and reporters are camped out on their doorsteps. Others may want to speak out but are just not sure how to go about it, says Selig.
“Unless you’ve been involved in something like this it’s hard to put into words what this feels like,” says Selig. “These jurors did their jobs and deserve to have someone on their side and not interested in exploiting them. They need someone interested in protecting them. Period. That’s why we’re making this offer.”
Selig believes that insight from jurors could go a long way in helping the public understand what happened.
Selig says he will work with any juror interested in speaking for free on selecting the best media outlet, the location of the interview and will protect their interests.
